Short: Papio-Music - music suite for MorphOS Author: Yannick Buchy Type: mus/misc Version: 1.1 Architecture: ppc-morphos Requires: MorphOS 3.20+ ============================================================================ PAPIO-MUSIC Scores, instruments, rhythms and sound editing Version 1.1 ============================================================================ WHAT IS IN THE DRAWER --------------------- Papio-Music the launcher: opens the programs of the pack, each on the screen and in the part of it you chose Composito music scores: write notes with the mouse on a staff or a guitar tablature, add chords, listen; opens MusicXML and Guitar Pro, saves MusicXML, exports MIDI Resonance the instrument: play a grand piano, 128 SoundFont instruments or a synthesizer with the mouse or the computer keyboard, play MIDI files, record as WAV Amplitude sound editing: opens every format MorphOS reads, shows the waveform, cuts, pastes, applies effects, plays; saves WAV, AIFF or 8SVX Pulsio the drum machine: click the steps of a grid, start from a style or "Surprise me", chain patterns into a song; exports MIDI and WAV Papio-RegTool registration: pick an offer and register - one window Each program has its own readme in its own drawer, and its user manual in the Docs drawer, in the 16 languages of the pack: the "?" button at the top right of its window opens it. This readme is only about the pack. INSTALLING ---------- Copy the Papio-Music drawer wherever you like. Nothing is written outside it: the settings of every program go to its Settings drawer. All the programs speak 16 languages and follow the language chosen in the Locale preferences. Sound goes through AHI: set a sound output in the AHI preferences. The General MIDI instruments of Composito, Resonance and Pulsio need fluidsynth.library (FluidSynth, by BeWorld). If it is not installed, the first of them to start offers to download it from morphos-storage.net and runs its own installer, which puts it in SYS:Libs. FROM ONE PROGRAM TO THE OTHER ----------------------------- The programs follow the path of a piece of music: 1. Composito write the melody, then "Listen in Resonance" (Amiga+R) 2. Pulsio make the rhythm, then "Listen in Resonance" or "Open in Amplitude" 3. Resonance give it a sound - piano, SoundFont, synthesizer - play along, and record it as WAV 4. Amplitude Resonance's waveform button opens the recording: cut, fade, normalise, save When the next program is already open, the work goes to its window; otherwise it is started. THE DEMO -------- Every program in the pack is a demo. Everything can be tried; what needs a registration is keeping your work: saving or exporting a score in Composito, recording in Resonance, saving a sound in Amplitude, saving or exporting a rhythm in Pulsio. Composito and Pulsio can still send their work to Resonance to listen to it. The title bar says "Demo" until the program is registered. Registration follows your MorphOS registered user name -- there is no key to type. Open Papio-RegTool and pick your offer; you then receive the pack with the programs you registered for, unlocked. OFFERS ------ Composito (music scores): 19.90 euros Resonance (piano, synthesizer and MIDI player): 19.90 euros Amplitude (sound editing): 9.90 euros Pulsio (drum machine): 9.90 euros Papio-Music, the whole pack - all four: 39.90 euros Every offer includes all future updates, free of charge. Papio-Music is sold on its own: a registration for Papio-Office or Papio-Design does not unlock it, and the other way round. AUTHOR ------ Yannick Buchy - papiosaur https://www.papio-software.com Third-party material, each with its licence beside it, in Composito/resources, Shared/Piano and Shared/SoundFonts: the Bravura music font (Steinberg, SIL Open Font License), the GeneralUser GS SoundFont (S. Christian Collins) and the Salamander Grand Piano samples (Alexander Holm, CC BY 3.0). Composito, Resonance and Pulsio play their General MIDI instruments through fluidsynth.library (FluidSynth 2.6.1, MorphOS port by BeWorld - thanks!, LGPL 2.1). It is not in this archive: if it is missing, the first start offers to download it from morphos-storage.net and runs its own installer. The keyboard of Resonance is the MUI class Piano.mcc by Tcheko (Antoine Dubourg), part of MorphOS - thanks!
