FITD
====

FITD ("Free in the Dark") is an open source reimplementation of the
engine behind Alone in the Dark. This port draws in software, so it
runs on any MorphOS machine without 3D drivers.

Alone in the Dark 1 (French CD version) has been played from the
start to the end credits on real hardware (PowerBook G4 and Mirari).


INSTALLATION
============

 1. Unpack the archive anywhere, e.g. Work:Games/

 2. Copy the game files of your own Alone in the Dark (the INDARK
    directory of the CD: *.PAK, *.ITD, *.VOC) into FITD/data.
    The game files are NOT included.

 3. Optional music: rip CD audio tracks 2 to 17 as Ogg Vorbis files
    named 02.ogg ... 17.ogg into FITD/data.

 4. Double-click FITD.


CONTROLS
========

 Cursor keys     walk / turn (press Up twice to run)
 Return          inventory and actions
 Space           perform the selected action (fight, open, push...)
 Esc             menu: save, load, music, sound, detail, abandon
 Alt+Return      window / fullscreen
