Jazz2 port for MorphOS ********************** Open source reimplementation of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 https://de4th.dev/jazz2/ https://github.com/deathkiller/jazz2-native Requirements: ------------- - MorphOS 3.20 - SDL3 package (sdl3.library 3.4.17 or later) - 3D graphics card with at least 64 MB of VRAM - Original game data files: copy them into the "Source" drawer, they are converted into the "Cache" drawer on the first launch - A gamepad is highly recommended (rumble is supported, I recommend the GameSir G7 SE) Known bugs / limitations: ------------------------- - Some effects are not perfect yet (the shield for example) - Online multiplayer is disabled My tests: --------- Mirari with an X1950: fullscreen 1920x1080x16, about 100-120 FPS History: -------- 17.10.2026 - Update to the 3.9.0 release - Now built with libXMP and the SDL audio backend (no more OpenAL and openmpt) - Built with SDL 3.4.17, now using sdl3.library - Uses the system vorbisfile.library for Ogg Vorbis files - Larger audio buffer (2048 samples) - Ambient sounds (torch fire of the castle levels) kept at the 3.8.0 volume, 3.9.0 doubled it and it sounded like a crackle - GL1 backend updated for the new rendering of 3.9.0 - The fullscreen resolution chosen in Options / Graphics is now restored at startup and with F11 / Alt+Enter - Settings of the previous version are kept 23.08.2026 - Update to the 3.8.0 release - GL1 backend updated, AltiVec is no longer needed - Local multiplayer enabled 20.08.2026 - Built with SDL 3.4.14 and OpenAL 1.24.3 using the SDL3 driver - Added a GL1 backend with FBO support, multitexturing... - Logs redirected to a file (jazz2.log) - Options / Graphics: added VSync, resolution selection and true fullscreen support - Added AltiVec support for software rendering (effects, lighting, water...) - Optimized cache file generation and added a message for the first launch Thanks to BSzili for his help. Have fun!! And please consider supporting me. Thanks! BeWorld at sfr fr
