| Readme: | Short: Modular, 24 bit fractal explorer for MorphOS Uploader: elena@elenadomain.it Author: elena@elenadomain.it Type: gfx/fract Requires: MorphOS 3.9+ (MAY work under older MOS versions, not guaranteed) Version: 2.0 BETA 1
** WARNING: THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL CHANGES SINCE THE LAST RELEASE 1.3 OF 2004, ** ** THEREFORE YOU ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO READ THE HISTORY.TXT INSIDE THIS ARCHIVE !! **
THIS VERSION WON'T BE UPDATED ANY MORE - GOODBYE
In 2017 I decided to bring ZX to a new life before closing any amiga/fractals related chapter FOREVER. Initially I wasn't mean to release it being still in BETA stage. Eventually I decided to be kind and release it anyway because it was a pity keeping it "in my drawer" forever. Despite it was used regularly at those times it may still contain bugs or things to fix or to improve. Also I can't be sure that it works flawlessly on Hw/Sw configuration different than mine (PowerMac G5 with MorphOS 3.9) Please do NOT contact me, do NOT report any bugs or anything else. As I said I won't work at this any more being from then on involved with more important and productive projects. Use at your own risk. You are alone.
WHAT'S NEW SINCE 1.3 ?
Simply too many things to be listed here. The most important are:
-Brand new GUI with modern look and full 32 bit support. ZoneXplorer no longer needs ReAction or any other third party components which aren't already part of vanilla MorphOS distributions
-Many bugs of v1.3 and incompatibility issues with newer MorphOS versions fixed
-New highly improved and fully automated module editing and creation system
-Support for 68K architecture is now dropped, I'm sorry folks
If you are already a former ZoneXplorer user/fan, you are STRONGLY ADVISED to consult History.txt found inside this archive for a complete list !!!
HARDWARE/SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
-Any platform capable of running MorphOS 3.9+ (MAY work under older MOS releases, but I can't test it any longer)
-24/32 bit graphics card with 24/32 bit desktop
-Ambient strongly recommended
INSTALLATION
-Simply unpack/copy the WHOLE archive to the place you prefer
-If you plan to use ZoneXplorer regularly and/or to create custom Modules, you are STRONGLY ADVISED to also make a permanent ZX: assign to the program dir, and to copy the content of InstallData to your SYS: partition. This will install default Ambient icons with file associations and MIME types for ZoneXplorer Modules, Module Sources and Zones
